This past weekend, we did something big. At Wild Pickleball Agency, we organized an event that exceeded all expectations and once again confirmed what we already knew: Pickleball — one of the fastest-growing sports in the world — is here to stay.
Set in the iconic Municipal Pools of Montjuïc, with the best views of Barcelona as the backdrop, we launched what will be the first of many events of its kind. The Pre-Clásico Pickleball (also known as The Pickleball Challenge) wasn’t just an exhibition — it was a full experience that brought together sporting legends, professional Pickleball figures, and a growing community united by this sport.
Sporting Legends Take on Pickleball
The Pre-Clásico brought together legends like Carlos Costa, Gaizka Mendieta, Donato, Paco Palencia, and Alberto Berasategui, who all joined in for this unique experience. They played alongside top-tier professionals such as Marcello Jardim and Sabrina Méndez in a dynamic, accessible and spectacular format.
At the end of the matches, the verdict was unanimous: Pickleball is surprisingly accessible, easy to learn, and incredibly fun from the very first rally.
But beyond the game itself, the real magic lies in its power to build community, connect generations, and become a shared space for both experienced athletes and first-timers alike.
